Commercial detergents often contain harmful chemicals such as sulfates, fragrances, and dyes. Many brands include petroleum distillates, which have been linked to cancer and respiratory illnesses. The fragrances in these detergents are frequently composed of a mixture of hazardous chemicals. Soapnuts offer a superior, natural alternative to chemical soaps and cleaning products. Additionally, they are gentle for individuals with allergies or sensitivities to conventional cleansers and detergents. The soapnut shells naturally produce saponin when combined with water, resulting in a gentle lather with cleansing properties. Soapnuts can also be utilized in the creation of liquid cleaners, dishwashing solutions, shampoos, and face/body washes. Instructions for Use: For laundry, place 4-6 Soap Nuts in a muslin bag and insert into your washing machine. Wash your clothes as usual, using cold, warm, or hot water. After the wash cycle, remove the bag and allow it to dry. Dry the clothes as you normally would. The Soap Nuts can be reused several times until the shells become soft and grey; at that point, they should be composted. Each set of Soap Nuts can be used for up to 10 washes. For external use only; avoid contact with eyes. For enhanced results, consider using wool dryer balls instead of conventional dryer sheets for a naturally clean laundry experience. To prepare a face or body wash, combine 8-10 Soap Nuts with 4 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil for 20 minutes. Add 1 additional cup of water and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the mixture, allow it to cool to room temperature, and then mix in 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of guar gum to achieve the desired consistency. Add essential oils as desired.
