Right. This one’s for the football fans. You know who you are. You’ve got a kit for every team you’ve ever supported. You’ve argued about whether it’s called soccer or football (it’s football obviously). You’ve definitely celebrated a goal like you scored it yourself. No judgement – I’ve done that too. Someone asked me a while back: “can you do a cake for my son’s birthday? He lives and breathes football.” I said yeah, course. Made a green pitch, a little white ball, and his favourite team’s colours. He went mental. Happy mental. Since then I’ve done loads – Premier League, Champions League, local teams, even World Cup ones. So I thought, right, let’s just make it an official thing. So here it is: the Soccer Star Cake – available at our Bromley bakery. It’s a round cake, about 7 or 8 inches. Feeds 6–10 people. Perfect for a football birthday party or a match day watch party. Sponge is vanilla or chocolate – your choice. Buttercream is smooth, not too sweet. I keep it simple so the decoration can do the talking. The decoration part is where it gets fun. You tell me your favourite team. Your favourite player. Their colours. Their badge if I can manage it (I’m not a printer – it’s all hand piped). And I’ll try to make it look like something they’d have at a stadium. Usually that means: A green pitch on top (coloured buttercream) A little white football – maybe a few Their team colours in stripes or polka dots Sometimes a shirt number or a name piped on the side Maybe a tiny goal if I’ve got the mould I can’t do an edible photo of their favourite player – I’m not that fancy. But I can do a lot with icing and colour. Who buys this? Football birthday cake for kids, teens, even adults. Never too old. Match day watch party – someone comes over to watch the game and you surprise them with cake. End of season party – we won the league? Cake. We survived relegation? Also cake. Mums buying for their football‑mad kids – respect to those mums. Honestly? Anyone who just wants a cake that looks like a pitch. Can I get any team? Almost any. Premier League (Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City, Man United – all fine). Championship. La Liga. Serie A. International (England, Brazil, Argentina, etc.). Even Bromley FC – gotta support local. If I don’t know their colours I’ll Google it. Don’t tell anyone I said that. Different flavour?Course. Red velvet, lemon, strawberry – whatever. Just ask. How much notice?Week or two if you want proper themed details. Less if you just want colours and a ball. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest. Collection or delivery?Collect from our Bromley shop or local delivery if you're nearby. One thing to mention…The little football is edible. The pitch is buttercream. The shirt number is icing. And no, I can’t make the cake do a celebration dance. Tried once. Just fell over. Right. That’s the Soccer Star one done. For the fans who shout at the telly like the players can hear them.
