PVC Fixed Face Flanges (Slip) Table D Designed for use in cold water PVC piping systems. A PVC Pressure Flange is for pressure applications. Flanges are used to connect pipes with each other, to valves, to fittings, and to specialty items such as strainers and pressure vessels. A cover plate can be connected to create a “blind flange”. When gluing flanges we recommend using a heavy bodied PVC solvent cement, such as Christy 946BGREY or Weld On 711.
