Saturday, March 21st - 8am-11am Learn to knit socks from the toe up using the magic loop method! Knitting from the toe up enables you to try on your socks as you knit, ensuring the best possible fit. Once you master magic loop toe-up socks, you can try two-at-a-time toe-up socks, eliminating second-sock syndrome from your knitting experiences. In this workshop, we’ll knit a mini-sock using worsted weight yarn. We’ll cast on, shape the toe, shape the heel, and bind off. When you leave, you’ll be ready to cast on for a real sock using small needles if you choose. We can start your full-sized sock at the end of the workshop if you like, so bring fingering weight yarn and a 32-inch US Size 1 or 2 circular needle if you have one. Materials Required: US Size 7 circular needle, 32 inches long or longer; stitch marker; row counter (optional but helpful); small amount of worsted-weight yarn in a light, solid color for knitting the mini sock Prerequisites: Knitting in the round on a small circumference using double-pointed needles, two long circular needles, or magic loop.
