Soft Rush is a grass-like wetland perennial with upright cylindrical non-jointed stems from spreading basal clumps and foliage reduced to bladeless basal sheathes. The flowers and seedpods are inconspicuous. Best in full sun and moist to wet well-drained soils. Though it looks coarse, the stems are soft to the touch. Type: Perennial, Orn.
