Template and Shape The Glider uses a Mini Mal Template, a highly versatile and popular shape that works for surfers at most skill levels. Rail Technology The Glider features Softlite's updated Parabolic Rolled Rail Technology. This hand-shaped rail system starts with softer rails at the nose, tapering down to a sharp, hard-edged rail at the tail. This innovation ensures that the board is forgiving and resistant to rail catches at the front while giving more control, bite, and turning ability at the back. Much like a traditional fibreglass board, this rail design provides a more responsive feel, improving performance without sacrificing the softboard's overall user-friendly characteristics. Stinger System The Hybrid Glider features an internal solid bamboo stringer system for added strength and durability. Internal Membrane The Glider Softboard is built with 3 layers of 6oz fibreglass set with epoxy resin on the deck side (which is typically more than standard shortboards). The slick side has 1 layer of 6oz fibreglass set with epoxy resin for durability. External Membrane The deck side is encapsulated by a 5mm IXPE deck skin, providing extra strength, durability, and traction for secure footing during surf. The slick side is encapsulated by a high-density PE slick bottom, enhancing speed and durability while ensuring protection from the elements. 24kg Density Moulded EPS CoreThe Hybrid Glider uses a 24kg density moulded EPS core. This high-density core provides a balance of strength and buoyancy. It’s lightweight, yet durable enough to withstand the rigours of surfing. The EPS core has excellent floatation, ensuring you stay on top of the water even in smaller waves while offering enhanced durability to handle your surf adventures. Fin System:The Glider features a Single Tab Fin Box system, compatible with all single tab fins. This allows for easy fin changes to tailor the board's performance to various conditions.
