While the Funboard-style template makes it forgiving enough for progressing riders, the more refined Hybrid Construction gives it the responsiveness and stiffness that experienced surfers demand. This combination allows the Slider Lux to excel in a wider range of wave conditions — from mellow beach breaks to punchier reef setups. Compared to our Classic Construction, the Hybrid build features a stringered EPS core wrapped in fibreglass cloth, reinforced with a wood veneer deck, and finished with a durable soft IXLPE deck skin and HD slick bottom. The result? A board that feels noticeably faster, stiffer, and more responsive underfoot — while still maintaining the safe and forgiving feel of a softboard. The Funboard template provides a touch less surface area than a traditional Mini Mal, with a slightly pulled-in nose and tail for improved manoeuvrability. Despite this, it retains generous volume under the chest and front foot for easy paddling and effortless wave entry — perfect for surfers who want both performance and flow.
