'Soft Rain at Moonrise' is part of my new Flower Moon series, which highlights the relationship between flora, fauna and the rising and setting moon in the Byron Shire (Australia's eastern-most point). It's a magical place, known for its beautiful coast and hinterland, where soft mists often linger into the morning and the flower moon casts a rosy glow over the landscape.In this original encaustic triptych, an eastern rosella parrot sits in a gumtree as soft rain creates a veil for the rising flower moon, which is out of sight. The light is gentle and soothing, and there's a sense of timelessness. Show more
