Solaia is one of the most iconic wines of Tuscany, a flagship wine from Antinori’s celebrated Tignanello estate. Crafted from the estate’s sunniest slopes, it brings together Caber net Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese in a beautifully structured Super Tuscan with impressive depth and longevity. 96/100 - This is a classy and very elegant expression. The Marchesi Antinori 2022 Solaia is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. The tannins are beautiful in this wine, very well managed with silky and chalky results. The wine unfolds beautifully over the palate, offering generous richness and seamless fruit flavors that range from blackberry to tart plum. There is never a formula for making this wine, but the best vintages of Solaia show that seamless quality that is a hallmark. You get that here in what is perhaps more accessible packaging. - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate 96/100 - Antinori’s 2022 Solaia opens with scents of graphite, lavender, espresso, menthol, plum and blackberry. Cabernet Sauvignon is so magical here, especially in its aromatic profile. Deep and layered on the palate, but in the mid-weight style of the year, the 2022 impresses with its poise and long, resonant finish. The 2022 is not a big wine, but it exudes striking balance. Its persistence is especially of note. Solaia is a highlight in a vintage that has plenty of ups and downs.
