The SolarEdge Home Load Controller (SEM-DCS-R08-00) is a wireless relay device that integrates into the SolarEdge Home Network to control permanently connected appliances — maximising self-consumption of excess PV generation and reducing non-essential load during battery backup operation. It features two simultaneously switched dry-contact relay outputs (normally open and normally closed), enabling control of resistive, inductive, and contactor-switched loads. Compatible with the SG-Ready single-stage heat pump interface and seamlessly configured via the SolarEdge monitoring platform or SetApp. 8 A NO Relay at 250 Vac Wireless SolarEdge Home Network SG-Ready Heat pump interface IP30 DIN rail or wall 5 years Warranty ⚠ Installer Note — Must be wired by a qualified electrician. The NO contact is rated 8 A at 250 Vac; for loads exceeding 8 A, wire via an external contactor. The device operates at mains voltage — isolate supply before wiring. An Ethernet connection to the inverter is required during initial configuration. ⚡ Compatibility — Compatible with SolarEdge residential inverters with SetApp configuration, including Home Hub Inverters, Home Wave Inverters, Short String Inverters, and Three Phase Inverters (SE16K/SE17K). Requires the ENET-HBCL-01 or ENET-HBNP-01 Home Network Plug-in to be installed in the inverter. Not compatible with commercial inverters. The NO contact switches loads up to 8 A at 250 Vac directly — suitable for immersion heater elements, underfloor heating zones, or other resistive loads within that rating. For larger single or three-phase loads (e.g. heat pumps, EV chargers), wire the dry contact through an external contactor. The device's two relay contacts switch simultaneously, which also makes it ideal for the SG-Ready two-contact heat pump interface. Does this require a wired connection to the inverter? No wired connection is needed for ongoing operation — communication is wireless via the SolarEdge Home Network. However, the inverter must have a Home Network Plug-in installed (ENET-HBCL-01 or ENET-HBNP-01), and an Ethernet connection to the inverter is required at the initial configuration stage to set up the device via the monitoring platform or SetApp. How does it help during a power cut? During backup operation (grid failure), the SolarEdge system automatically switches non-essential loads off to extend battery backup time. The Load Controller enables the inverter to shed controllable loads on command — for example, switching off water heating or underfloor heating — so that available battery capacity is preserved for higher-priority circuits.
