This Desk butt hinge has a polished brass finish. Clear-coated to help preserve the finish. Desk hinges are designed for desks, in particular for drop-front desks or fall-front des ks. The wider leaves allow for the screw holes to be located further from the edge of the desk's front panel, increasing their holding power. Screws located too close to the edge of a panel may split the wood, causing failure. This hinge is sold by the pair. A pair consists of two complete hinges.
