Solid Oak Antique Reproduction Single Sliding Door KitThis kit contains one Antique Reproduction Door and one sliding door track kit, bringing together the period character of the door and the practicality of a sliding track, so you get the look you want without giving up floor space.We put this kit together for rooms where a swinging door would get in the way. Instead of leaving clearance for the door to open into the room, it slides sideways across the face of the wall, running along a track fixed above the opening, which suits smaller rooms, landings and open-plan spaces.The door is handcrafted from prime Grade A solid oak, and its surface is aged to give a time-worn, antique look that a brand new door does not have. Underneath the aged finish the oak is even and straight-grained, so you get the quality of prime oak with a face that reads as though the door has been in the property for years. It is built in the traditional way, with vertical planks and three horizontal ledges, which suits period and listed homes as well as more modern interiors.Being solid oak all the way through, the door can be sanded back and re-treated over its life. The sliding track runs smoothly and quietly, so the door is easy to move day to day, and the track head is available in an arrow or a straight design so you can match the look of the ironmongery to the door. The door is supplied in a range of sizes to suit standard openings.You can have the door oiled in our classic dark finish, which brings out the aged surface, or take it unfinished and finish it yourself. If you finish it yourself, seal every face before hanging, including the top and bottom edges, then re-oil roughly every six months to keep the oak protected; our maintenance guide covers the steps.
