All floating shelves are 100% solid reclaimed wood with a standard thickness of 1 and 5/8" and a depth of 12". Characteristics - Light brown tones, which we sometimes say “warm hon ey tones” or “cocoa butter” tones to explain color. Sapwood gets paler in tone. Because of how tall and old white oak trees get, you will get the varying knot holes occasionally as well as the 10% fluctuation in hue which produces a very natural, organically grounded feeling.
