As the name implies, this is one of the first goldenrods to bloom each year, beginning in summer. Like all goldenrods, it supports an incredible amount of wildlife from pollinators to birds and beyond. It is easy to grow and spreads by rhizome to form colonies. While competitive, it is far less aggressive than common Canada goldenrod (Solidago canadensis). For small gardens where less spread is desired, consider gray goldenrod (Solidago nemoralis). Show more
