An early, reliably heading variety developed by the late, famed organic breeder Jonathan Spero of Lupine Knoll Farm. Plants in our trials have consistently produced tight, mild-fla vored, sweet heads. Crowns are a bluish-green, with some purple tingeing, and are even better in the fall, harvested after the first frosts turn them solidly purple. It was selected as a "gap filler" for broccoli production, both for heads around the solstice and for early fall production. The stems reach quite a bit above the plant, making harvest a breeze.
