Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Melissa, and I offer one-on-one somatic presence sessions online via Zoom, weaving in several modalities that I've been studying for over twenty years. These sessions are a place for you to come and be present in your own body, with a clear and gentle witness. I hold space for the wisdom of your own body to come forth, and together we follow this wisdom to see what is ready to be seen and worked with. You may have a specific thing that you want to focus on, or you may simply settle as we ask your body what it wants to reveal. Inevitably, you will go on a journey of discovery within, while also learning tools along the way to cultivate a more present and embodied relationship with your body, your truth, and your heart. This work is gentle, intuitive, authentic and powerful. Each time is different, depending on the energy of the day and your body's capacity. We may discover old memories, ancestral material, prenatal experience, hidden gifts, resources for our heart, clarity and wisdom, inner pools of sadness, the fire of anger, new expressions, freedom of movement where there was freeze. We may learn new landscapes of your inner worlds, finding pieces that were isolated and bringing them back home. You may remember who you are in ways that were forgotten. My true passion holds court at the intersection of the body, creativity and aliveness. Our creative flow is often in direct relationship with how life force flows through our bodies. When our body holds vigilance and unmetabolised emotions, events and experiences from our lives, we may often feel that our life force and creative inspiration is obstructed as well. These sessions serve as a way to metabolize what has been stuck and hidden so that you feel more freedom, ease and flow within your self and being. I find that working one-on-one with a somatic modality (such as the one I am training in, Somatic Experiencing™) utilizes my skills acquired as a bodyworker and Holistic Health Practitioner, but in a way that brings the healing power to the client's court. My attention and witnessing is like another form of bodywork, with your own awareness, breath and intuition being the "hands" of the session. Our bodies are wise alchemists, we just accumulate a lot of unmetabolized stuff that gets in the way of accessing our natural flow. My sessions seek to resource you and provide tools and embodied practices which support you to remember the innate wisdom of your body. These tools and practices will reveal themselves to us during our session, and will be things that you can continue to work with to support yourself afterwards for integration. You are welcome to bring any intentions of things you would like to work with. Some great examples are: *Navigating life transitions or rites of passage *Unblocking the creative flow *Grief processing work *A desire for deeper embodiment *Clarity around life relationships *Wanting to conceive a child *Navigating birth/becoming a mother *Connecting with your life's true purpose / mission / dharma My work combines Somatic Experiencing (currently at Intermediate I Level), the healing tools I learned during my 1000-hour Holistic Health Practitioner training, my work as a doula, intuitive insight, flower and plant magic, and my years of creativity coaching as an intuitive art teacher. I am here to hold space and witness the beauty of your heart. I am here to reflect your own brilliance so that you remember. I am here to help you unwind the knots of trauma that hold you back from being your natural, authentic, unique self. What are you here for? Let's find out!
