Part of my First Steps mini collection, Something Special was inspired by a wintertime walk along the Sammamish River. For the First Steps mini collection, I aimed to use a limited color palette consisting of hues loosely representing the sky and earth. The paintings are an interpretation of landscapes from places I've been across Washington consisting of memories of how it felt to be there, often aided by a snap I took at each spot for referencing shapes and patterns.
