A collection of reimagined school chairs — lifted from classrooms, reworked in our Copenhagen workshop, and given a new sense of self. Each one is unique. Each one holds on to a past life while softly insisting on a future. We didn’t want to start over. Only interfere. Just enough to alter their posture, shift their weight, encourage a new gesture. We left traces behind on purpose — of scratched legs, chewed edges, crooked screws. Their history is a collaborator. Sommerfugl is transformation through minimal removal and curious assembly. The name means butterfly — a nod to the delicate reshaping of something once rigid. It’s not nostalgia. It’s a slow flutter toward something else. "Everything has been done; you can only do it better. Everything is a remix."‘Hybridize or disappear,’ warns Oliver Laric in Versions (2012). We agree. Nothing is entirely new — and that’s exactly where the freedom is. A study in memory, material, and movement.
