Most of the newer Sony camcorders do not provide a 2.5mm jack for hooking up a LANC remote control to your camera. However, the LANC is indeed programmed into the camera and can be accessed via the 10-Pin jack on the camera. So with this special cable that plugs directly into your camera, you can now use any LANC remote that has a 2.5mm jack. This new version is the same as STP-01 but without the RCA jacks, so you can save some money if you don't need those connections or if the camcorder doesn't support it. Show more
