It is dedicated to disc playback, and does not have disc recording functionality. Released in 2003, it features a new High Definition Digital amplifier (10dB less noise than MZ-E710 at low volumes). It also has a “Quick start” function, which keeps audio data in memory, reducing startup time from dead stop to about 0.4 seconds. It has a 6-band equalizer, and a VPT (“Virtual Phone Technology”) acoustic engine, which cannot be used when the 6-band equalizer is active.Full aluminium construction.It weighs 64 grams without a battery or disc installed. It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack for audio output.It was bundled with the RM-MC33EL inline remote control.
