I love SLOG-3.gamut.cine but I hate their free SLOG LUT on their website! It's not a good base to edit your footage, as its too saturated and has too much contrast, these are stylistic decisions and should come before you Transfer LUT. I also don't gel with the SLOG-3 LUTS greens, they are just almost nuclear in color, way over saturated and the luminosity is way to high, again not a good base to start from. Having a good neutral base to work from similar to RED and Arri cameras is the goal, and is also the standard. So after a few months working with other DP's and Colourists, I made my own SLOG 3 LUTS, that fixes all my issues and gives me the flexibly and freedom in post production. We made 6 different LUTS! Each LUT has a High or Low contrast option, giving you even more flexibility in post for contrast and saturation control. Natural As the Names suggest, a standard base to work from that has a input for SONY color space and output of Arri color gamut with the greens fixed Bali A more styled look that gives you filmic cinematic warm colors, not a 100% film look as its a base for other styled LUTS after this LOG Transform LUT. (Check my creative LUTS linked below) Tungsten A entirely different LUT for night scenes, as night scenes have to way more contrast so they require a different Transform LUT. Best suited for scenes shoot at around 3200K White Balance. Portra800 Based off my favourite photography film, Giving you the amazing skin tones and pastel colors. Kodak Gold My Second favourite film stock, a warmer tone than Portra 800, achieving pleasant skin tones and warm pastel colors. Kodak Vision A film emulation of the most popular film stock used on movie and film sets, trusted by the best DP's in the word.
