Originally developed by NASA for use in aeronautical applications, silica aerogel is composed of more than 95% air and is the lightest solid material known to man and one of the most effective and lightest forms of insulation ever created. A unique secondary windproof insulation layer is provided through the custom designed 20d Nylon IR thermal reflective lining that dramatically helps to lock in body heat.
