The Souadi variety originally comes from a small mountain village called Lala in Lebanon. The trees are known to be very productive and the figs grow to medium size, weighing about 50-70 grams. Souadi trees produce round figs and 5-lobed leaves. The leaves are more compact, without long fingers. The leaves also have straight edges. Souadi figs are typically mid-season ripening. The combination of colors gives a glowy effect to these fruits. Souadi figs are filled with equally colorful pulp. Depending on growing conditions, the pulp can range from an orange-y red to dark red color. The pulp has a very sweet berry flavor and the skin gives good acidity to the overall flavor. Souadi is a common variety, not requiring wasp pollination to produce fruits. It was originally introduced to the fig community by Bass from Trees of Joy located in Pennsylvania, US. Terms and Conditions: ***Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions before purchasing cuttings*** When do we ship cuttings? Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details. For all questions, please refer to our Fig FAQ page here.
