Sour Patch Kids are fruit-flavored jellies shaped like children and covered in citric and tartaric acid for their signature sour and sweet flavor. Frank Gallatoli, a confectioner a t Jarrett International in Ontario, Canada, invented Sour Patch Kids in the 1970s.
