Not all cults are bad. Some just make exceptional bread. For over 100 years, we've cared for the same live sourdough starter, feeding it daily with nothing more than flour and water. Originally passed down through four generations of bakers in Cheshire, this living culture is now ready to become part of your kitchen. Whether you're baking your very first loaf or rediscovering the joy of slow baking, this beautifully presented starter kit contains everything you need to begin. Be warned though. Sourdough has a habit of taking over. It starts with one loaf. Then you're planning your weekends around bulk fermentation, checking on your starter before bed and proudly showing strangers photos of your latest crumb. Before long, you'll have opinions about hydration, flour blends and Dutch ovens. Welcome to the club. What's inside?
