Southern Blue Gum is a beautiful looking timber and is durable as well as being hard and tough (F27 for structural use with a BAL19 rating). It’s a great native species for agrofor estry because of how quickly it grows and its wide array of uses. Our timber cladding has a low level of defect, is sapwood free and is available in good lengths. Read this guide to learn how to care for and maintain Southern Blue Gum Cladding. Where does this timber come from? This cladding is thanks to a unique partnership between us, our miller, Dan, and Frank and Sharon's Agroforestry farm in South Gippsland. Southern Blue Gums were planted in the early nineties and pruned and thinned by Frank and Sharon. Their approach of using a wide spaced planting pattern ensures there is still quite a lot of pasture growing under the trees and the tree paddocks are still used for grazing cattle and sheep.
