Sovtek 5881 The workhorse of the 5881 family. This is most commonly used 5881 on the market today. If you have a 5881-based amplifier, chances are this was the tube that came stock. It has solid, military-spec build quality, which makes it very sturdy and dependable. If you just want a tube that is just plain going to work and work and work and not cost big $$$, this is the tube for you. They sound pretty darn good too. The 5881 can be used as a replacement for the 6L6GC, however it is a lower dissipation tube, which means less power, and you may need to back off the bias slightly depending on your amplifier.
