If alkalinity is already low (below 80 ppm) and pH is high, you have a tricky situation — adding more Spa Down will crash alkalinity into the unstable zone before pH reaches target. The cleanest fix is to dose Spa Down to bring alkalinity to the low-normal range (around 80 ppm), let pH settle for 24 hours, then reassess.
