Many instructors would like to include field testing of a suspected drug material during student processing of simulated crime scenes. A student field testing unit includes a bag o f a simulated drug material called Space Dust, a sample of a non-reactive powder to provide a negative sample, and two field “drug” test kits similar to those used by the police. The Space Dust sample or the negative sample can be spread as a powder on the scene, repackaged into small baggies, or placed as a residue on paraphernalia items such as spoons or pipes.
