(Space) Space Stations, Earl Bateman, 1989 This was going to be the next step in infrastructure as humans would build orbiting platforms that could be bases for science and further development. But compared to the space race of the 1960's, this is where manned space exploration began to slow down. From the loss of the U.S. Skylab, the overall mediocre success of the space shuttle program (never reaching its fast turn around times and cheap to deploy payloads), this is about where things would remain, or even recede from. Here, Earl Bateman does another great visualization, accented with glow in the dark inks to catalog Space stations and the vehicles that served them. Included is a reference booklet in five languages that discusses the several space programs and their work. Uncommon. Condition is very good. Overall size is approximately 35.25 x 35.25 (inches) Show more
