This spall liner is designed for use with steel body armor plates to help manage bullet fragmentation after impact. While the liner does not provide standalone ballistic protection and does not change the armor rating of the plate, it is built to aid in capturing or reducing the movement of spall created when a projectile strikes steel armor. Constructed from a specialized blend of aramid fibers, the liner is intended to be worn in front of the steel plate, facing the strike side, as part of a properly configured steel armor setup. For users running steel rifle plates, a spall liner adds an additional layer of fragment-management material without replacing the ballistic protection provided by the plate itself.
