Spalted Maple Cutting Board

I make cutting boards from hardwoods cut down from timber in The Blue Ridge Mountains near my home. This cutting board is Spalted Maple. I call this board Monarch on Rose Bush. The image is burned into the wood. The board is then oiled with Coconut Oil several times and heated to preserve the shape. I like to think my boards are used in the kitchen for more than just a decoration. The backside is not decorated and makes a great cutting or serving board. Show more
