Spark is the third studio album by American rock duo Whitney, released on September 16, 2022, through Secretly Canadian. After moving from Chicago to Portland, Oregon, in the fall of 2019 following personal breakups, Julian Ehrlich and Max Kakacek spent an extended period in Portland due to the COVID-19 pandemic, where they began working on Spark. The album was written over 14 months in Portland and recorded at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas. Marking a shift from their previous folk-soul sound, Spark embraces a classic pop vibe influenced by early 2000s icons like Usher, Ne-Yo, and Gwen Stefani.
