Like other Sharp-Edged Series styles, this memorable watch features a gloss-finish dial patterned with an Asanoha hemp-leaf motif, a symbol of growth and prosperity dating to the Heian Period (794-1185 AD) that was also used in Kabuki costumes in the Edo Period (1603-1867 AD), here in the reddish-brown Kakiiro color, named after a Kabuki master who favored it. With sharp gold accents to highlight the intricate pattern, the dial includes a date calendar. The sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, while the black cordovan strap with Kakiiro colored lining is secured by a tri-fold push button release clasp.
