SpecFlow is a cement-based, self-leveling floor underlayment that creates a smooth, feather-edge-compatible subfloor for interior use SpecFlow is a single-component, non-shrinking underlayment that seeks its own level once poured, eliminating the need for troweling. It prepares interior subfloors for carpet, tile adhesives, and other floor coverings, and can be applied from a feather edge up to 2 inches thick (up to 5 inches with added pea gravel). Key Features & Benefits Self-leveling formula eliminates the need for troweling Versatile application thickness — feather edge up to 2 inches, or up to 5 inches with pea gravel Fast setting — accepts foot traffic within 2-4 hours High bond strength for long-lasting adhesion to the substrate Compatible with adhesives for carpet, tile, and other floor coverings Application Instructions Prepare the substrate to a minimum CSP #3 profile, with shot blasting preferred; surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, oil, paint, and loose material Apply SpecPrime primer at approximately 100-150 sq ft per gallon with a brush or broom (not a roller), and allow it to dry completely — very porous surfaces may need a second coat Pour 4 quarts of water into a mixing container, then add one 50 lb bag of SpecFlow Mix with a heavy-duty drill and blending paddle for 2-3 minutes until smooth and free of lumps Avoid overwatering or retempering the mix Pour over the primed substrate and spread with a long-handled spreader — no troweling needed Technical Data Summary Set Time: Initial set at 50 minutes, final set at 80 minutes at 70°F Compressive Strength: 3,000 psi at 1 day, 5,500 psi at 28 days Flexural Strength: 1,150 psi at 28 days Bond Strength: 1,000 psi at 14 days when used with SpecPrime Coverage: Approximately 24 sq ft per 50 lb bag at 1/4 inch thickness Shelf Life: 12 months when stored properly in a cool, dry location Packaging Available in 50 lb bags.
