Drumstick Onion. A rather tall growing small-flowered allium of tremendous charm. Pear-shaped flower heads held on wiry stems, greenish at first, and from the top down slowly turni ng a vivid wine-red. An intriguing flower, wild looking in a quiet sort of way and popular with bees and butterflies. Plant generously in small groups dotted around the border for this is the perfect bulb to smarten up the garden in early summer. A native of Europe, growing in rocky and grassy places.
