The spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is a popular, easy-to-grow houseplant native to tropical and southern Africa. It is known for its attractive, long, arching leaves with a ce ntral green stripe and white or yellowish margins. The plant is also called airplane plant, ribbon plant, or spider ivy.
