Typical Spikenard smells dusty, earthy, woody, musty, root-like, and balsamic; it's often described as ancient, a beautiful vessel by itself, and Green Spikenard is a particular distillation of the jatamansi roots. Its odor is cleaner, fresher, greener, and more refined than the typical distillation that results in your regular Spikenard. The Green distillation is more herbal and possesses clearer mossy facets overlaying the rooty base. Part of the heart and base is a vintage and scarce essential oil of Clove Flowers. The clove flower brings a subtle spice, not sharp like a clove stem or bud, but more subtle, whispering of expensive, slightly spicy balms.
