I know you love making starz as much as me, so now let me introduce you to the newest addition to the Stargazey galaxy. Spikey Starz blocks can be made in three different sizes for your quilt designing ease, but the real bonus of these blocks is that their look may be varied with the number of spikez stitched. With six, seven, or eight star arms, each of these spikey creatures is definitely unique. Techniques used in their making are a combination of my favourite ways of cutting and stitching - nothing difficult, just slicing freely into a rough cut background, covering corners, then stitching the newly made star arms back together. Be warned though, they like to be introduced to the skies at a slow and gentle pace - they are fiddly so start with the big blocks first. From a simple repeat block quilt in one size for a newborn, to an intricate multi-sized arrangement for the astronomy loving teenager, a quilt with these spiky blocks is sure to shine. Also included are the setting instructions for the Spikey Starz Cot Quilt.
