Compact, curly-leaf perennial greens. Sometimes called "Brazilian Lettuce", this is a great green for cooking and adds great crunch and visual texture to salads, holds well through summer, unlike most spinach or lettuces, and has a crunchier texture than succulent greens. Can stay perennial if protected from cold. Shade loving and great as a year-round edible ground cover. High in oxalates, so it should be cooked if eaten in large quantities. Show more
