Handmade delicate silver and copper earrings, my Spindrift earrings dare to push the boundaries of The Windblown Collection. Jewellery inspired by the elements, they mesmerize and hypnotize, like the spiraling spray on a gust of wind they are named after – and I suspect they will draw “oo”s and “ah”s from all those who set eyes on them. Circular droplets - silver on top and copper on the underside - form a V where the two metals meet. A circular section has been sawn-out in the middle of the copper silver combination earrings, with two half-moons of carved out under that, to draw you in. Then five cascades of tiny beads droplets fall from the final outer crescent in an arc; clear, green and blue with silver glints, like water falling to the earth after heavy rain. These are earrings with movement and space across their middle and at their edges, and they will find resonance with those who prefer to shake things up rather than fit in with the status quo. The earrings are handmade start to finish, threaded onto perfectly finished ear wires, formed in 0.8mm silver – neat and comfortable, with the ends ever so slightly tapered but smooth, so they can be easily slid into your ears lobe piercing. The detail From top to bottom (including the 3mm oval jump ring at the top) the solid, round, part of the earring at its longest point measures 2.8cm, at its widest point 2.2cm side to side and 1mm thick. The ear wires measure 2.1cm long at the front (and extra 2mm at the back), taking the entire earring length, from the top of the earring loop to bottom bead, to around 6.8cm.
