This visually stunning one-of-a-kind wood fired Spiral urn is visually striking and features a bamboo and brass finial with a cork seal. The urn measures 6 inches in height and 5 inches at its widest point. This urn has the capacity of up to 65 cubic inches. Wood fire pottery is painted by flames and fly ash (ash particles resulting from the burning of the wood). Once the kiln becomes very hot, the fly ash from the firebox that flies around the kiln and deposits on the pieces melts and alters glazes as well as forming a natural ash glaze and random flashing and color. Unlike Raku or smoked works, wood fired vessels are high fired and watertight. It takes up to a week or more to complete a firing.
