Spirulina is a nutrient-dense algae, naturally high in plant protein, carotenoids, and trace minerals, and it’s one of the best plant foods for deepening the greens, yellows, and reds of algae-grazing fish over time. This is the plant side of a balanced diet, built for herbivorous and aufwuchs-grazing bottom dwellers that browse algae and biofilm in the wild. The tablets hold their shape rather than crumbling, so fish can graze them slowly and the water stays clear. If your fish are used to meaty foods, give them a little time — switching to a pure plant food can take a few days. How to feed Feed in the evening, before lights-out — that's when these grazers are most active.
