Input and Threshold The Input control adjusts level in 41 detented steps across plus or minus 10 dB and increases compression as the level rises. Threshold also uses a 41-step detented pot to determine the exact point at which compression begins, allowing surgical level management. Together, Input and Threshold shape how hard the signal hits the tube stage, which forms the core of the Venos tone. Bias The Bias control offers 41 steps and governs the grid voltage of the remote-cutoff tube. Raising the bias voltage reduces the signal transferred from cathode to anode and tightens the compression curve. The tube bias responds to the combined influence of Input, Threshold, Rectifier, Mode, Attack and Release, making Bias a powerful creative parameter that can thicken, soften or intensify programme material.
