This nano predator brings a serious dose of color and personality to smaller reef aquariums. Featuring absolutely "Splendid" patterning throughout the body and a wide range of colors from a silver, yellow, and several shades of blue, and finished off with a streamlined torpedo shape and a narrow, pointed snout, this is a truly unique and beautiful species. Under good reef lighting, the rich coloration contrasts beautifully against live rock and coral, and this fish ends up reading like a centerpiece despite its compact size. However, be warned: the Splendid Dottyback can be fairly aggressive and territorial toward similarly shaped fish, other pseudochromis, and very small or timid tankmates, especially in tight quarters. It's generally considered reef safe with corals, but may opportunistically pick off tiny ornamental crustaceans (very small shrimp included) if underfed or confined.
