Pre-Spliced LeadlineFor use with Sounding Leads [sold separately] A genuine New England leadline, pre-stretched and spliced per traditional specifications as detailed in Ashley's Book of Knots. Oversized loop with seizings gets passed through the eye of the sounding lead. The bitter end also has an eyesplice that can be used as a hand loop, or quick attachment to some point aboard the ship. This leadline is supplied un-marked so it can be measured off and tagged in feet, fathoms or meters. This would normally be done with leather strips, knots or seizings (sometimes paint markings) at the desired intervals. Offered here in 3 standard lengths... custom lengths are also available.
