The Split Chair is a new interpretation of the classic tubular steel furniture based on modern technologies. By bridging the gap between hi-tech and low-tech, the latest 3D laser t echnology and traditional tube bending, a design was created that poetically combines simplicity and material efficiency. The frame made of powder-coated tubular steel and the seat made of felt-lined, robust saddle leather make the stackable chair comfortable and robust. The Split Chair was designed by Daniel Lorch. Daniel is actually a communications designer. In 2006, while still studying at the HTWG Konstanz, he worked at the renowned design office Integral Ruedi Baur et associés in Paris. In Berlin he began to realize his first self-taught products. His office Daniel Lorch Industrial Design was founded in 2010, and the product brand L&Z was later added. Since then, Lorch has been designing award-winning lights and furniture and developing projects in the areas of industrial and exhibition design. Show more
