Split Infinitive Daylily If you love grammar, big daylilies, or daylilies in general, 'Split Infinitive' is one daylily that you need to add to your garden! Huge 9" blooms are uniquely colored in they are a lovely lavender-pink blending to yellow with a darker, eye-catching band. Typically, larger bloomed daylilies bloom on tall scapes, but Split Infinitive is an exception. It has the huge blooms, but they sit atop scapes barely over 2' tall. Makes for a whimsical feel in the garden and an absolute delight. Classified as a daylily of unusual form (UFO) these crispate blooms have a tend to appear pinched or twisted. Just gorgeous! As an early to mid season bloomer, we begin to see the tremendous blooms of Split Infinitive around the first of June. If you live to our north, you'll see them a bit after we do. If you live to our south, you'll notice them a couple of weeks before us. Split Infinitive is a dormant daylily. That means it is best grown in areas that receive a sustained winter cold period like those in zones 8 and lower. We think this lovely bloom looks fantastic when planted en masse as it really highlights its unique coloration.
