A lithium feldspar that has a lower expansion rate than other feldspars. Spodumene introduces thermal shock resistance to a clay body. In glazes, it is a blue enhancer. WARNING: Co ntains free crystalline silica, which could lead to silicosis or other lung diseases after very long exposure.
