We tested four different adhesive brands during development, with 3M VHB consistently providing the strongest and most reliable bond. As a result, we've made genuine 3M VHB tape standard with every spoiler lip extension. No need to purchase additional adhesive — everything required for the recommended installation is supplied. 🔧 Installation For the best possible bond, preparation is key. Before installation, ensure the mounting surface is: Clean Dry Free from dirt and dust Free from grease and oils Free from wax or polish Completely free from other contaminants We recommend having two people available during installation to help position and align the spoiler lip before the adhesive makes contact. Once correctly positioned: Apply the spoiler lip carefully and ensure it is correctly aligned. Apply firm, even pressure for approximately 90 seconds. Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 48 hours. Do not expose the vehicle to water during this period. Avoid washing the vehicle while the adhesive is curing. 💡 Fitting Tip — ABS Flexibility Due to the manufacturing process, ABS plastic can naturally contract slightly as it cools after moulding. As a result, the spoiler lip may occasionally feel somewhat rigid during installation. If additional flexibility is required, gently warming the spoiler lip with a household hairdryer can make it easier to achieve a precise fit. Do not overheat the plastic. Apply gentle, even heat and gradually work the spoiler into position. 🔩 Alternative Permanent Installation For customers wanting a more permanent installation, an appropriate automotive-grade polyurethane adhesive or body sealant can also be used. ⚠️ Please note: Permanent adhesives can make future removal extremely difficult and, depending on the product used, may damage the original spoiler when removed. For this reason, we recommend using the supplied genuine 3M VHB tape unless a permanent installation is specifically required.
